Headline Details: A 3U CubeSat. The HERON Mk. II satellite carries a custom optical measurement payload platform for a biological experiment that will measure the virulence and drug resistance of the C. albicans yeast in a space environment. The results of this research are intended to be used to inform human space travel in the future. Secondary missions include the training and education of our team members in the design and development of spacecraft, as well as in the operation of radio equipment. Proposing a UHF downlink using 9k6 GMSK modulation with some custom headers . Planning a Spaceflight Industries launch aboard a SpaceX rocket from Vandenberg in June 2021 into a 525 km SSO. More info from http://spacesys.utat.ca/confluence/display/HER/ **Now expecting a launch into a 500-600 km orbit end of Q1 2022** **The team has been advised that Space research missions should find a place in frequency bands allocated to the space research service. The use of amateur spectrum for this type of operation would be inappropriate.** ** As a result of a revised mission definition, frequency coordination has now been provided for a downlink on 437.120 MHz with an expected launch date of August 2023** | ||||
