Headline Details: The RADSAT-SK2 project is a continuation of the RADSAT-SK Cube Satellite Project. It is a 3U CubeSat and is a collaboration between the Canadian Space Agency, University of Saskatchewan, University of Regina, University of Saskatchewan Space Design Team, and University of Regina Space Design Team. RADSAT-SK2 has the primary goal of training highly qualified personnel by providing students with training in applied technical and project management skills outside of what they would learn in a classroom. RADSAT-SK2 will provide amateur radio services in the form of a beacon and digipeater. These services not only serve the amateur community, but are also a critical part of establishing first contact. The project will allow the students to conduct scientific experiments using onboard payloads. The primary payload will study radiation effects on electronics and investigate ways to mitigate their effects. A secondary payload will perform climate science by making cloud coverage measurements using a small camera. These payloads are designed to enhance the student learning opportunities made available by participation in this project. Finally, the project will provide community outreach to raise awareness of the space industry in Canada. Proposing a UHF downlink for telemetry and APRS beacon and V/U AX25 digipeater using 9k6 GMSK. Planning a ISS deployment in Q4 2026. More info at https://www.skcubesat.ca/about-4 | ||||
