Headline Details: A 3U CubeSat. This mission will include a camera system that will provide imagery for research purposes. In addition, it will contain an in-house developed PCB and software with numerous technologies to be tested in space. These technologies include securing satellite data by utilizing authentication and AES encryption algorithm, and an AI-based image processing algorithm and compression. Moreover, this project will be significant in building national capacity, adding value to the space industry, contributing to research and assisting BSA's establishment of a rigid infrastructure with sufficient data to be referenced for future missions. AlMunther will contribute to the provision of more learning opportunities to the community and students interested in nanosat technology. The contribution of the AlMunther to the training obtained in satellite technology (both space and ground segment) will be added to the infrastructure of the BSA where BSA will transfer this knowledge to raise the skills, knowledge and awareness of the youth and students of the Kingdom through various local programs and initiatives. In the framework of the NASA Space Apps Challenge held and organized every year in Bahrain by BSA, the data of AlMunther will be used to allow the participants to be able to obtain their radio amateur license which will contribute to the growth of the radio amateur society. In addition to receiving the space station telemetry the AlMunther beacon (with a call sign A98MNR transmitted at short intervals) will also be used for the purposes of contests between the amateurs in tracking and communications with the space station. This will contribute to the improvement of the level of proficiency of radio amateurs throughout the world and raise the level of their skills. The beacon will also transmit the national anthem of Bahrain as well as a quote by his Majesty the King of Bahrain in Arabic and English that can be collected by radio amateurs around the world. The opportunity of reviewing the beacon and analyzing the anthem and quote will be beneficial for the purposes of self-training of amateurs in satellite communications. Proposing a UHF downlink using GFSK or BPSK? at up to 19k2 baud with AX25 encapsulation. The satellite was launched on the Transport 14 mission in March 2025. | ||||
