Headline Details: A 50 x 50 x100mm picosat. ROM-3 satellite has the following three missions and objectives. PRIMARY MISSION is a DIGITAL REPEATER. ROM-3 will act as a digital amateur radio repeater. Amateur operators will be able to upload a message to the satellite and it will transmit it to the ground once. SECONDARY MISSION is SSDV Image Transmission. ROM-3 will transmit a low-resolution SSDV image in GFSK Mode. TERTIARY MISSION is CW BEACON Transmission. The satellite will send a Morse Code identification. This will help amateur radio operators to 1) detect the presence of the satellite and 2) measure basic properties of the signals: strength, fading (spin), Doppler (speed), etc. ROM-3 will act as a digital repeater for the radio amateur community, and it will also send low resolution images from Low Earth Orbit in SSDV modulation. Amateur radio operators will be able to actively participate by receiving the signal and decode the image. Proposing a UHF downlink with 20 wpm CW, 500bps GFSK telemetry and 5kbps GFSK SSDV. Planning a SpaceX launch in Oct/Nov 2023 into a 500km polar orbit. More info at https://rom-space.ro/ **A downlink on 436.235 MHz has been coordinated**
