Headline Details: BDSat is a 1U CubeSat mission of the Central European Institute of Technology CEITEC, Brno University of Technology and other partners. In this mission students from four Czech technical universities are involved with us along with members of an amateur radio community from The Czech Republic. Experimental payload subsystem is developed to verify and qualify pressure sensor devices for use in open space conditions. On top of technical verification, feasibility and suitability of the technology will be studied. The second part of the experiment aims to verify supercapacitor technology as a modern energy storage solution. The satellite uses two amateur bands for communication UHF telemetry downlink, beacon downlink and payload data transmission from the satellite to ground segment. The second band is VHF used for uplink commands achieving a full duplex communication. Both aim to use AX.25 GFSK G3RUH 9600bD packets popular amongst amateur satellite operators and enthusiasts. All satellite telemetry data will be open and readable by the amateur community with documentation provided on the project website www.bdsat.cz BDSat satellite is designed for HAM radio activities. Main purpose is to provide services for radio amateurs worldwide and also for students of technical universities to get hands-on experience with satellite communication and get radioamateur licences. One of the project goals is to popularize HAM activities across the common population, students and children in Czech republic. BDSat will provide these HAM services: - AX.25 telemetry - CW beacon - Digipeater - Anniversary/special occasions AX.25 & CW messages for community engagement - SATNOGS integration, decoder, dashboard - Special set of (one purpose, not command and control) AX.25 commands allowing radioamateur community to actively communicate with the satellite and receive telemetry data. Proposing a UHF downlink using 9k6 G3RUH AX25 G3RUH modulation. Planning a launch in Q1 2022 on the SpaceX Transporter 3 mission into a 500 or 600km circular SSO. **A downlink on 436.025 MHz has been coordinated**
Application Date: 28 Oct 2021   Freq coordination completed on 27 Jan 2022
