Headline Details: Two satellites which will separate after launch and experiment with cross link communications using 1k2 and 9k6 AX25 packet. The purpose of the FASTRAC mission is to investigate enabling technologies crucial for satellite formations, including on-orbit relative navigation, attitude determination, micro-thrust capability, and satellite crosslink communications. This will be achieved by taking on-orbit data from a pair of twin satellites that will separate once in orbit. The data will be collected through a network of civilian ground stations and evaluated through post-processing of the recombined downlink message.The main experiment is planned to last approximately one month after launch and the satellites will remain operational until they fail or re-enter (assumed to be six months after launch).There is also radio beaconing and store-and-forward capability on each satellite that can be used by the amateur radio community after the main experiment is completed.
