Headline Details: KatySat is an educational venture between graduate students at Stanford's SSDL and local high school students. The cubesat will host a web server that will be accessed by the ground station. An amateur radio operator will be able to ping the satellite and receive a confirmation from the satellite. KatySat will have a VHF receiver and a UHF transmitter. The VHF receiver will accept pings from HAMs. The UHF transmitter will send confirmation of the ping and send multimedia triggers to expecting students across the world. planned for a DNEPR launch from Khazakstan in Dec 2005 into a 510km 98 deg sun syncronous orbit. www.katysat.org | ||||
