| Headline Details: UBAKUSAT is 3 unit CubeSat based on the latest CubeSat standard. Its max. mass will be 4kg. UBAKUSAT’s payload is a linear transponder. The aim is to provide voice communication between suitable locations from Low Earth Orbit for duration of about 10 minutes max. A secondary payload namely TAMSAT Simplesat card will also send the telemetry data about the simplesat conditions and the relative radiation data absorbed by the card to the ground station. The linear Transponder is almost the same payload of TURKSAT-3USAT which was launched on April 26, 2013 from China. The satellite is being developed by Istanbul Technical University, Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Space Systems Design and Test Lab (SSDTL) along with TAMSAT, GUMUSH and ERTEK Ltd. with some support of RF lab of ITU (RFL) and Ministry of Transportation, Communication and Maritime in collaboration with Japanese Government. In addition to predecessor TURKSAT-3USAT. The first ever CubeSat of Turkey, ITUpSAT1 was also successfully developed by SSDTL. ITUpSAT1 was placed in a LEO orbit of 720 km, on September 23, 2009 by a PSLV rocket. Its beacon signals are still heard by amateur radio stations worldwide. The primary mission of our satellite is to maintain voice communications for amateur radio stations, all around the globe. This system consists of a transponder that works on VHF and UHF bands (VHF for uplink and UHF for downlink communications). Moreover, satellite have a CW beacon and a modem onboard for telemetry data of the satellite. The satellite also contains typical subsystems that are required for its successful operation: structure, EPS, batteries, solar panels, OBC, antenna, etc. The estimated duration of the satellite mission is about 6 to 12 months. The launch is planned for late 2016 or early 2017 from Japan to ISS. Requesting the same V/U frequencies as were coordinated for TURKSAT-3USAT. ** The following frequencies have been coordinated: Beacon 437.225MHz, TLM downlink 437.325MHz, transponder downlink 435.200-435.250MHz.
