Headline Details: The FIREBIRD mission (Focused Investigations of Relativistic Electron Burst Intensity, Range, and Dynamics) is a targeted, goal-directed, space weather CubeSat mission to resolve the spatial scale size and energy dependence of electron microbursts in the Van Allen radiation belts. It will use two identical 1.5U CubeSats. Proposing UHF downlinks for each CubeSat using 19k2 GMSK and AFSK. Planning an ELaNa October 2014 launch from Vandenberg into a 439x670km 98 degree orbit.** Downlinks on 437.405 and 437.230 MHz have been coordinated** | ||||
