Headline Details: A 2U CubeSat.This satellite aims at providing a risk reduction precursor flight prior to the QB50 mission for demonstrating low cost access to space by means of the implementation of a 50 2-Unit CubeSat sensor network. This project deals with the de-risking of a number of technical and programmatical elements of the QB50 mission by providing an in-flight and in-orbit test of these elements approximately 1 year prior to the launch of QB50. The mission aims to derisk the following elements: 1.In-orbit test of the science sensor suites for QB50 2.In-orbit test of the QB50 ADCS module 3.Realise a return favor for the AMSAT community by allowing them to fly a number of communication experiments 4.Testing of QB50 Special checkout equipment for cleanroom remote access, required to handle checkout and preflight processing of all 50 QB50 satellites. 5.Testing of communication and control architecture, from satellite command uplink and telemetry reception to mission control and data processing activities It will use a 9k6 BPSK telemetry downlink TX on VHF plus a separate RF payload from AMSAT-F which will comprise of an FM voice relay with UHF uplink and VHF downlink. It will also transmit FX25 telemetry at 9.6kbit. The orbit will be a sun synchronous LEO at approx 650km and launch is planned on a DNEPR in mid 2014. ** A BPSK downlink on 145.880MHz and FSK downlink on 145.840MHz have been coordinated** | ||||
