Headline Details: Ho~oponopono-2 (“to make right” in Hawaiian) is a 3U CubeSat that was the basis for the University of Hawaii’s participation in the University Nanosat-6 and Nanosat-7 Programs, an educational satellite design and fabrication program for university students. Ho‘oponopono-2 was also selected by NASA as a participant in its ELaNa 4 CubeSat Launch Initiative for a launch tentatively scheduled for August 2013. The mission of Ho‘oponopono-2 is to provide GPS-based orbit determination telemetry that would be of interest to the amateur radio community. This GPS ephemeris telemetry as well as housekeeping data will be downlinked via UHF beacon. We will provide a free telemetry decode program for amateur ground stations for the duration of the mission. Ho‘oponopono-2 will also have an onboard C-band radar transponder, whose NTIA license is being coordinated by the US Department of Defense. Proposing a 1W 9k6 FSK/GMSK AX25 beacon.
