Headline Details: Comprising of a 3U CubeSat, the Triton-1 mission is a radio science mission which aims to test an experimental advanced AIS (Automatic Identification System) receiver. Telemetry downlinks will be 9k6 RC-BPSK on VHF(145MHz). A telemetry format specification will be made available which will allow amateurs to decode housekeeping and payload telemetry. The satellite also includes two similar secondary amateur radio payloads, being two single channel mode U/V (435-145MHz) FM to DSB transponders. Note: since the uplink frequencies for these transponders are shared with the 2 redundant command uplinks, these will be published after the 3 months of science mission. Possibly (power budget permitting), both transponders may be switched on at the same time. Mission lifetimes: Science mission: 3Months Amateur radio mission: as long as possible after the science mission finishes. Expected to launch late 2012 on a DNEPR from Yasny together with Triton-2, UKube-1, Delfi n3Xt, Trio-Cinema 1 & 2 and other spacecraft using frequencies in the amateur satellite service. The following downlink frequencies have been coordinated: Main Downlink 145.815MHz & Backup Downlink 145.860MHz. The Uplink frequencies will be announced by the project team after 3 months of science mission. | ||||
