Headline Details: A cubesat mission included on the manifest for the maiden flight of the VEGA launcher. Its mission goal is the study of gravity gradient attitude stabilization. This control is performed through two booms which unfold from the satellite body. The booms provide also further space for solar arrays, in order to obtain more power for battery recharge, which is a common problem for satellites as small as a Cubesat. The communications system will use 9k6 FSK and a coordinated frequency of 437.345MHz has been provided **but now coordinated on 437.305MHz (see Masat1). VEGA maiden flight to 300x1400km orbit 695 degrees late Jan 2012 launch from Kourou | ||||
Application Date: | 20 Jan 2009 | Freq coordination completed on | 25 Jan 2009 |
