| Headline Details: A 2U CubeSat mission. This primary goal of the REALOP mission will be to provide students the educational opportunity to design, build, and test a satellite. Students will gain hands-on knowledge about the different subsystems of the satellite. Additionally, the mission will also educate students about the use of amateur radio, as it will help them obtain their amateur radio licenses as well as teach them about how to use RF in order to communicate with spacecraft. The secondary goal of the mission is to demonstrate the feasibility of using Hard Disk Drives as a low cost alternative to reaction wheels for CubeSat attitude control. To reduce the financial barrier of entry to cubesat development By supporting student education about amateur radio, and by pursuing a potential technology -hard disk drives as reaction wheels which will reduce the financial barriers to entry for student and amateur groups to launch CubeSats, we feel we are making a significant contribution to furtherance of the radio arts. Proposing a UHF GMSK downlink with a 96 kHz symbol rate. Telemetry packets will use HDLC framing and a rate 1/2 convolutional forward error correction . Planning a deployment from the ISS in June 2026. **Coordination for a telemetry downlink on 437.400 MHz has been provided** | ||||
